The Town that Bruce Bought
A little-known story, as related to me by an ex-girlfriend who grew up in Idaho:
Years ago, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore moved to Hailey, Idaho, to raise their daughter, Rumer, away from the perils of Los Angeles. Aside from their palatial estate outside of town, Bruce gradually bought up most of the main street and opened a restaurant that intentionally operated at a loss, underselling the competition in order to become popular.
As a result of being unable to compete with a rival establishment that does not need to make money to stay in business, every other restaurant in town soon went out of business.
And then Bruce closed his restaurant on a whim one day.
And so Hailey became a town without a restaurant.
